Try-It! Illinois 2006

Try-It! Illinois 2006 is the annual statewide database trial sponsored by the Illinois State Library. Try-It Illinois, now in its seventh year, offers the 4,000+ ILLINET member libraries, their staffs and their communities a wonderful opportunity to survey and evaluate a wide variety of electronic resources. Thanks to the collaboration between the Illinois State Library and the participating electronic resource vendors, there is no charge for accessing these databases during Try-It! Illinois.

The Try-It! Illinois program runs through November 20, 2006.

EBSCO Features First Chapters for Books on NoveList

EBSCO announced that its NoveList readers' advisory service now lets users preview the first chapters of thousands of included book titles. Provided by the Dial-A-Book Chapter One program, first chapters are provided for a range of books spanning most genres with a focus on recent and popular titles. Access NoveList in the library, or through our website. Lansing Library card required.

To see an example of the first chapters program, try a search for Patterson, James
Next choose the title The 5th Horseman, look in the light blue box, to the right of the book cover image (approximately in the middle of your screen) to find the link for the First Chapter.
