Online Renewals Fixed

The online renewal problem experienced Aug 28-Aug 29 was fixed at 10:54 a.m.

The borrower account overview screen now displays correctly.

Library Catalog and "My List" Feature

Our support team has informed us that our borrowers' "my lists" were lost during our recent computer problems. They were unable to recover them from the backup files.

You may have also noticed that the catalog options and searches such as "new videos" or "new books" look differently. They were rebuilt from an older backup from August 2004. We're working on getting these updated to current versions once again, but that will take a few days.

We are also aware that the Borrower Overview screen is not displaying correctly. A support request has been placed to address this issue.

We'll post updates on our progress here on the blog.

Catalog Alphabetical/Browse Searches

The Lansing Library Catalog Alphabetical or Browse searches are now working.

Well a few minor things still need some work, and the support teams are addressing those issues.

This information is current as of Friday, Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Browse searches do not yet work properly, but most of our patrons use keyword searches and those work fine.

You can once again renew your items online, place holds, check your borrower record and search for items.

We are aware that many of you who had saved items to the "my list" feature have lost their lists. We have entered a request for support on this issue.

We are also aware that the options for the new dvds, and some of the other catalog quick searches have been reverted back to the 2004 version. We will get this corrected as soon as possible.

Note: if you tried to visit the catalog in the past week, when you return you may want to click the refresh button in your browser to make sure it loads a fresh copy.

SWAN Catalog Announces Scheduled Maintenance

This is a reminder that electronic access to all MLS services including the SWAN catalog will be down and not available all day on Sunday, August 27. This downtime is required in order to install a new network switch, which affects all MLS and SWAN electronic services and telecommunications.

It is anticipated that access to these services will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the following day, Monday, August 28.

Catalog Update

We're making progress towards getting it all working correctly again.

You can now access your borrower record, see your list of holds, and renew items online.

Searching is not working correctly yet.
For any search you try, it will respond with no results found.

Update on the Catalog Upgrade

We've run into unexpected problems during the catalog upgrade.

Library staff can look up items for you until we get the public catalog repaired.
If you wish to place a hold on a title, staff can take that information as well.

Computer Maintenance Reminder

Our public terminals will not have access to the Internet or Library Catalog on Friday, August 18 during a routine upgrade.

Our catalog, access to your borrower record, or renewing items online will not be available via our website during the upgrade.

Internet and library catalog access from public computers will be unavailable during a routine upgrade.
Catalog, borrower account, and renewal access through our website will also be unavailable during the upgrade.

WiFi Internet access, and access to public machines with Microsoft Word will still be available.
